Located in the canton of Fribourg, the Saidef plant has a capacity of 15'000 t.p.a. of slag treatment. Saidef owns and operates since 2016 the 1.0 version of the SELFRAG slag process.
Operational since 2001, SAIDEF's facility disposes of and recycles the waste from the municipalities within its catchment area. In 2006, the canton equipped itself with a plant for the treatment of sewage sludge. The shareholders consist of the municipalities of Fribourg and the Broye region in Vaud, as well as the cantons of Fribourg and Vaud, and the Groupe E.
